Sovereignty refers to dominant power or supreme authority. In a monarchy, supreme power resides in the "sovereign", or king. The Sovereignty of God

The doctrine of the sovereignty of God teaches that as the Creator, Owner, and Possessor of heaven, earth, the entire universe and everything within it, God is in absolute supreme authority over everything. He has the absolute and incontestable right and authority to do or allow whatever He desires according to His good pleasure. He is the ultimate source of all power, authority, and everything that exists. He has no limitations. All things are under His complete control, including nature, earthly leaders, history, people, the environment, angels, and demons. Absolutely nothing happens anywhere in the universe that is outside of God’s influence and authority. A list of Scriptures that support this are as follows:
