Hillary Clinton Wants Bible Changed to Support Sin & Wants Government to Enforce That Change

4/25/2015

Hillary Clinton has, in the past, made it a point to talk about her connection to God, and to the Bible. She has said, “At the risk of appearing predictable, the Bible was and remains the biggest influence on my thinking. I was raised reading it, memorizing passages from it, and being guided by it,” and “We (she and her family) talked with God, walked with God, ate, studied and argued with God.” As nice as this sounds, in light of her more recent comments, it is clear that she was doing nothing more than giving lip service to people of faith, telling them what she thought they wanted to hear.

On April 23, 2015, in her keynote address at the 2015 Women in the World Summit, 2016 presidential candidate Hillary Clinton told attendees that “religious beliefs” that condemn "reproductive rights … have to be changed.” Mrs. Clinton said, “Rights have to exist in practice, not just on paper. Laws have to be backed up with resources, and political will,” she said. “Deep-seated cultural codes, religious beliefs, and structural biases have to be changed.” What religious beliefs does Mrs. Clinton want changed with said change enforced by the government? According to Mrs. Clinton, “America moves ahead when all women are guaranteed the right to make their own health care choices, not when those choices are taken away by an employer like Hobby Lobby (which is owned by Christians and observes Biblical standards - RPT).” There you have it. If you adhere to the religious belief that abortion is murder, as taught in the Bible, then you and the Bible need to be changed and the government must force and enforce that change, according to Hillary Clinton.

This all being said, I also have to wonder if Mrs. Clinton intends to use the government – especially if elected to the presidency, to force Christians to accept any other sin. Based on her December 2011 speech in Geneva when she said, “most challenging issue arises when people cite religious or cultural values as a reason to violate or not to protect the human rights of LGBT citizens … no [religious] practice or tradition trumps the human rights that belong to all of us,” I think it is clear that she would likely use governmental enforcement to try and take homosexuality off the “sin list” (as NYTimes columnist Frank Bruni puts it).

Christianity Not Allowed At Shawano Community High School

4/19/2015

Picture
When 15 year old Christian student Brandon Wegner, a student at Shawano Community High School in Shawano, Wisconsin, wrote an opinion piece requested by a teacher for his High School newspaper, he was unaware of the persecution he would soon face for his opinion. The school newspaper wanted an article that presented both sides of the homosexual adoption issue. Wegner wrote in opposition and another student wrote in favor of allowing homosexuals to adopt children. Wegner used Scripture to defend his position, including passages from Leviticus that refer to homosexuality as an abomination. When a homosexual couple read the article, they immediately complained to the school district, who in turn immediately issued an apology saying, “Offensive articles cultivating a negative environment of disrespect are not appropriate or condoned by the Shawano School District,” the statement read. “We sincerely apologize to anyone we may have offended and are taking steps to prevent items of this nature from happening in the future.”

The “steps” taken by the school district included having school Superintendent Todd Carlson intimidating and bullying the 15 year old Wegner. During what has been reported as “hours of meetings,” Superintendent Carlson allegedly threatened to suspend Wegner for “violating the school's bullying policy,” as well as telling him that he was personally offended by Wegner's opinions, and that he had “to be one of the most ignorant kids to try to argue” with Carlson about this topic. When Superintendent Carlson gave the student an opportunity to say he regretted expressing his opinion, Wegner stood fast and did not back down in the face of the superintendent's bullying tactics. It is important to note that at no time during the superintendent's intimidating and abusive attack on the student, were the boy's parents notified.

Since the opinion piece was requested by a teacher, and another student wrote in favor of allowing homosexual partners to adopt, the topic itself wasn't objected to. What was considered objectionable by the homosexual couple and the school Superintendent, and what the Brandon Wegner was persecuted for, were the Bible verses used, and Wegner's Christian belief.

Colorado Approves Discrimination Against Christians and Christianity

Colorado Approves Discrimination Against Christians and Christianity

A man enters a bakery in Colorado and orders two cakes, shaped like Bibles, with Bible verses on them. The baker refused to bake the cakes. So the man tries another bakery and is again refused. After the third bakery and the third refusal, the man who had ordered the cakes went to the Colorado Civil Rights Division (CCRD) to file complaints against the three bakeries because the Colorado Anti-Discrimination Act, makes it unlawful for any place of public accommodation to refuse service to someone based on disability, race, creed, color, sex, sexual orientation, marital status, national origin, or ancestry.

Refusing to make two custom cakes that are in the shape of Bibles and which have Bible passages written on them should be a violation of the law. However, the CCRD ruled that all three bakeries had the right to refuse to make the cakes because the two cakes included “derogatory language and imagery.” In this ruling, the State of Colorado has determined that an image of a Bible is “derogatory” and Bible passages are “derogatory language.” What were the Scripture verses that the State of Colorado considered “derogatory? On the first cake, “God hates sin – Psalm 45:7” and “Homosexuality is a detestable sin—Leviticus 18:22” were to be included. On the other cake, the passages to be included were, “God loves sinners” and “While we were yet sinners Christ died for us—Romans 5:8.” The State of Colorado considers both the exposing of sin and God's love and plan for our redemption to be derogatory.

Not too surprising coming from the state that has passed laws designed to regulate the possession or display or printing of the Bible or gospel tracts.

Quoting Bible Cost Him His Job

4/13/2015

In January 2015, Atlanta, Georgia fire Chief Kelvin Cochran was fired from his job by Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed. Mayor Reed received complaints regarding a book that Chief Cochran wrote and published titled “Who Told You That You Were Naked? The Book contains passages from the Bible which point out that homosexuality is a sin. After receiving the complaints from pro-homosexual individuals, Mayor Reed publicly stated, “I am deeply disturbed by the sentiments expressed in the paperback regarding the LGBT community,” and that Chief Cochran's Bible based beliefs on homosexuality were “not representative of my personal beliefs, and is inconsistent with the administration's work to make Atlanta a more welcoming city for all citizens—regardless of their sexual orientation, gender, race, and religious beliefs.”The Mayor also went on record saying that he was worried that the Bible verses that Chief Cochran included in his book would lead to accusations of discrimination. Mayor Reed then suspended Chief Kelvin for 30 days, ostensibly to conduct an investigation into Chief Kelvin's “judgment and management skills.” At the end of the 30 day suspension, Mayor Reed fired Chief Kelvin. Interestingly, Chief Kelvin is a 34 year veteran fire fighter, who not only served two terms as Atlanta's Fire Chief, but was also appointed by President Obama as the U.S. Fire Administrator for the United States Fire Administration. And Mayor Reed claims he is investigating Chief Kelvin's “judgment and management skills.” It would appear that, given Mayor Reed's statements that Chief Kelvin was fired simply because of his sound Biblical beliefs. Beliefs that Mayor Reed does not share.

State of Colorado Makes Bible Illegal

4/9/2015

Picture
Well, at least in some circumstances and probably more circumstances than you might think. In the state of Colorado, it is entirely possible that you could be arrested simply for possessing or displaying a Bible.

As of November 2014, Colorado Revised Statutes, 24-34-701 stated that the publishing of discriminative matter was forbidden. It went on to say that, no person, whether owner, lessee, proprietor, manager, superintendent, agent, or employee of any place of public accommodation –– and “place of public accommodation” is defined as, “any place of business engaged in any sales to the public and any place offering services, facilities, privileges, advantages, or accommodations to the public, including but not limited to any business offering wholesale or retail sales to the public; any place to eat, drink, sleep, or rest, or any combination thereof; any sporting or recreational area and facility; any public transportation facility; a barber shop, bathhouse, swimming pool, bath, steam or massage parlor, gymnasium, or other establishment conducted to serve the health, appearance, or physical condition of a person; a campsite or trailer camp; a dispensary, clinic, hospital, convalescent home, or other institution for the sick, ailing, aged, or infirm; a mortuary, undertaking parlor, or cemetery; an educational institution; or any public building, park, arena, theater, hall, auditorium, museum, library, exhibit, or public facility of any kind whether indoor or outdoor.” In fact, it quite literally means anyplace the public uses, with the exception of “churches, synagogues, mosques, or other place that is principally used for religious purposes.” –– may not “publish, issue, circulate, send, distribute, give away, or display in any way, manner, or shape or by any means or method” … “any communication, paper, poster, folder, manuscript, book, pamphlet, writing, print, letter, notice, or advertisement of any kind, nature, or description that is intended or calculated to discriminate or actually discriminates against any … sexual orientation … or against any of the members thereof … that the patronage, … presence, … at such place by any person or class of persons belonging to or purporting to be of any particular … sexual orientation … is … objectionable or not … desired … .”

This law effectively bans the publishing, issuing, circulating, sending, distributing, giving away, or displaying any Christian Bible, since the Bible clearly states that homosexuality is objectionable. This places the Bible squarely within the context of the letter of this law. This means that it is illegal to have a Bible in a public library in Colorado. It is illegal for a chaplain in a convalescent home to hand out a Bible in Colorado. It is illegal for the owner of a barbershop to leave their personal Bible out in plain view in their own shop in Colorado, or, for that matter, any employee of any business to carry a pocket New Testament in their shirt pocket while working. In any public place in Colorado, other than a house of worship, the Bible is illegal.
