MISSION
STATEMENT
Our pastor tells us that everyone has a spiritual gift that will fall into one of two categories – either speaking or serving. All we have to do is figure out what our particular gift (or gifts) is. So I thought about it, and then I prayed about it, and then I thought about it, and prayed, and thought, and so on. During this period of praying and thinking I was asked by a friend to look at and evaluate a particular ministries teaching. I saw that there were some teachings that were contrary to what the Bible says. And then another friend asked me to look at a particular groups teaching. Again, I found some things that were not scriptural. And then I ended up in a debate with a very angry atheist and an agnostic who together challenged me to defend what I believed and what I had said about the Bible being true. So I did. By this time I started to get the message. I don't know if apologetics is a gift or not, or if it is something I would even want to do. But that doesn't matter. As long as I am asked to defend or contend for the faith I will.
Therefore, it is my intention to use this website to accumulate, store, and make freely available defenses to the various arguments and attacks against the Christian faith, both from outside and from within the Church, as well as responding to the claims of false teachers, false religions, cults and the occult.
Contrary to some individuals who have told me it is not loving to question the beliefs of others, and disrespectful to say that other religious beliefs are wrong, the Bible has much to say about this, both in the way of warning believers that false teachers and false prophets will attempt to deceive people, and also in the way of commanding believers to be proactive about those warnings.
“But there were also false prophets among the people, even as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Lord who bought them, and bring on themselves swift destruction.” – 2 Peter 2:1
“For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions, and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander off into myths.” – 2 Timothy 4:3-4
“Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world.” – 1 John 4:1
“And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them.” – Ephesians 5:11
“Beloved, while I was very diligent to write to you concerning our common salvation, I found it necessary to write to you exhorting you to contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all delivered to the saints. For certain men have crept in unnoticed, who long ago were marked out for this condemnation, ungodly men, who turn the grace of our God into lewdness and deny the only Lord God and our Lord Jesus Christ.” – Jude 3-4
“But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear.” – 1 Peter 3:15
